Our 2026-2027 Fisher Aspen Ski Rental Selection
Fischer Skis: Precision, Performance, and Mountain Versatility
Fischer has been building skis in Austria since 1924, combining more than a century of ski-making experience with the precision and performance the brand developed through alpine racing. But Fischer isn’t limited to race-inspired carving skis. Its modern freeride and freestyle collections bring that engineering to skis designed for softer snow, technical terrain and a much more playful approach to the mountain.
For 2026–2027, Hamilton Sports’ Fischer demo collection concentrates on two skis with distinctly different personalities. The Ranger 102 is a substantial freeride ski built for soft snow, bowls, trees and variable terrain, while the Nightstick 97 combines a twin-tip freestyle shape with enough stability and versatility to ski far beyond the terrain park.
Together they make for a focused Fischer lineup: one ski for skiers who want to explore the mountain in search of soft snow, and another for those who see the mountain as a playground.
Our 2026–2027 Fischer Ski Rental Collection
Fischer Ranger 102 WS
Available Sizes: 169cm, 176cm, 183cm
The Ranger 102 sits squarely in Fischer’s freeride collection, with a wide platform, substantial rocker and a construction designed to balance stability with maneuverability. Sandwich sidewall construction provides dependable power and durability, while Fischer’s shaped Titanal reinforcement adds strength where it’s useful without running a heavy sheet of metal through the entire ski. The result is a ski that feels composed when the snow becomes deeper, chopped up or variable.
The Ranger really comes into its own away from perfectly groomed terrain. SkiEssentials’ 2027 testing repeatedly highlighted its soft-snow capability and versatility, with testers finding it at home in powder, trees, bumps and mixed terrain. At 102mm underfoot, it provides meaningful flotation without becoming a dedicated powder ski, making it particularly well suited to an Aspen day when you’re looking for fresh snow in the morning but still want to ski the whole mountain afterward.
Best for: Advanced through expert skiers; powder; bowls; trees; soft snow; variable conditions; freeride and all-mountain skiing.
Fischer Nightstick 97
Available Sizes: 163cm, 170cm, 177cm, 184cm
The Nightstick 97 comes at the mountain from a completely different direction. Built around a 97mm twin-tip platform with significant rocker at both ends, it is Fischer’s versatile all-mountain freestyle ski—a ski designed to butter, smear, jump and ski switch while remaining capable enough for everyday skiing outside the park.
That broader versatility is what makes the Nightstick 97 especially interesting as a demo ski. In SkiEssentials’ 2027 test, skiers consistently found it more versatile than its freestyle shape might suggest, praising its stability, playfulness and ability to handle everything from hardpack to bumps and softer snow. The rocker makes it easy to pivot and correct, while the mid-90mm waist gives it enough platform for chopped-up snow and softer conditions without sacrificing too much quickness edge-to-edge.
For the skier who searches out side hits, natural features, bumps and unconventional lines instead of simply skiing from the top of a groomer to the bottom, the Nightstick 97 brings a completely different kind of Fischer performance.
Best for: Intermediate through expert skiers; all-mountain freestyle; park; jumps; side hits; bumps; soft snow and playful skiing.
